Film Review


 I finished my last project! The school year has gone by so quickly. I feel like just yesterday I did my first blog. Once I finished this project the first person I wanted to show it to was my step-dad. I feel like he's always very honest with me when it comes to stuff including the area that I want to continue in as a lifestyle. For example when I started on social media he always encouraged me to post acting things. I  went to show him my opening sequence as soon as I got it to my liking. He seemed pretty impressed. Then he said that it was really good. He told me that he thinks I have made a lot of improvements compared to my first project. I agree, since I have been working on making my projects better each time. He then gave me some suggestions. I was told to trim some of the shots at the beginning to make the walking look more natural. I also changed the area of where I put some of my titles. He also suggested that I changed some of my transitions so that the product will look clean. Afterward I showed my brother, Maurice. He also really liked it. He also said something about the transitions being a bit off though. So I went back and used their suggestions. Honestly I think the finish product now looks even better. I'm very happy with my finished opening sequence! However, there is always room for improvement. I know that as I continue to learn about the film world my films will only get better!

Our genre decision

   We decided that a Drama film was the appropriate genre that matched our pitch. A drama matches a specific criteria,  that we want to meet so it would be easier to incorporate different things into the opening sequence without it being considered unorganized. The music is also a choice that we can make, with the proper permission. Seeing as we can use a song with or without words because both tend to be normal for those kinds of blogs, whether it be spooky or calm and relaxed, or even intense. The costuming and acting is entirely off of what we decide to make our story about. Drama is honestly the simplest and easiest to work with. Out other two choices were coming of age and comedy. We can easily incorporate both if those into a drama and kill three birds with one stone. Comparing 9, The Short, and 9, The Full Length Movie

 In 9 the short film, the plot was very straightforward. It didn't really entail many abnormal distinct features that added to plot. There was very limited character development. In relation to the characters, we didn't see much of the main character "9" opinion or character. Regardless, the maker did an amazing job with the character distinction with the time given. The viewer was able to identify the main protagonist and antagonist with those simple ten minutes. In addition there was a clear beginning middle and end. The main antagonist was able to be portrayed in the correct manner with the limited amount of viewing given. First Day Editing Blog

 Today was our first day of editing. Whenever I edit something I always get nervous, but, excited. I get nervous that I'm going to mess something up or it's not gonna come out the way I envisioned it. However, I also get excited because I love seeing all the hard work come together. Today I decided that I wanted to take matters into my own hands and edit it myself. Together my group and I agreed to work on iMovie. I pulled out my phone and added in all the shots that I liked from our filming into my iMovie. Then I confirmed with my group members on the song choice for the commercial. I added the song and then clipped everything to make it the correct amount of time. I was worried at first that it was going to be too long. The shots we filmed were very long and had to be cropped. Before anything was done it was about a minute long. I didn't think I was going to be able to make it the actual length it needed to be. It ended up being 28 seconds without the logo ending.
